Melania Trump sued The Daily Mail for libel

Melania Trump has filed a $150 million lawsuit against The Daily Mail and Tarpley, a U.S.-based blog, claiming that the two outlets made false and defamatory statements about her involvement in an escort service. A lawyer for Trump said: “These defendants made several statements about Mrs. Trump that are 100% false and tremendously damaging to her personal and professional reputation. Their many lies include, among others, that Mrs. Trump supposedly was an ‘escort’ in the 1990s before she met her husband. Defendants’ actions are so egregious, malicious and harmful to Mrs. Trump that her damages are estimated at $150 million dollars.” (CNN)

Police Hunt For Armed, Naked Candy Bandit

Cops are hunting for a nude man who held up a South Carolina convenience store at gunpoint and escaped with only Reese’s peanut butter cups. An officer responding to a 911 call spoke to a 51-year-old worker who “states a unknown black male came into the store naked with a gun in his hand and stole candy.” The victim said that the suspect pointed the gun at him “while he was running toward the candy.” The robber stole “Reeses peanut butter cups and left,”. Police estimate that the suspect was between 18 and 30 years old. The suspect was naked except for a bandanna over his face and a pair of black shoes. The gunman did not say anything or approach him. The police say that the convenience store “does have video surveillance but it was unavailable at the time of this report.” (Smoking Gun)

Not Among The Undead

Teen video gamers score higher on test than social media junkies

According to a study of 12,000 teens in Australia, video gamers are slaying it when it comes to math and a few other subjects, too. The study published in the ‘International Journal of Communication’ found that teen video game junkies scored higher than average in math, reading, and science on an international exam. While the study found that teens who regularly scan their Facebook feeds or chat online more than others tend to score about four percent worse than average in math. The study author thinks that more research into how kids learn from online games could improve teaching methods. But a professor in Indiana said playing games doesn’t necessarily lead to higher test scores; he believes smarter kids are looking for a challenge that they find in video games, but not on social media. Lake City Krystal worker accused of attacking boss speaks out about arrest

An angry worker arrested after tearing up a Lake City Krystal hamburger restaurant is firing back against the allegations. Lake City police said former Krystal employee Russell Gomez threw frozen hamburger patties at his boss, and when she tried to get away, he followed her, knocking over equipment and pouring cooking oil on the floor. Police said Gomez was mad about getting written up for being late.

Gomez said he was angry because his boss made racially offensive comments about him. Gomez denies throwing the burgers at his boss and said he’s still recovering from the beating he got in the parking lot. “I turned the breakers off to the store. I drained all the grease,” said Gomez. “And then four or five people approached my car and got in front of my car, so I got out and the man splashed his drink in my face. So I punched him in the face and all five of them attacked me.” Krystal customer Sean Smith said he put Gomez in a choke hold after Gomez nearly hit him with his car and spit in his face. (CBS 47 TV)

‘Get nude or get lost’

Everyone at a nude beach checks out the other people at a nude beach. It’s obviously human nature 101. But it’s only kosher if everyone is letting their nasty parts fry in the sun. About 10 guys went to a nude beach in Arcachon, France recently, but they kept their clothes on and they wouldn’t stop staring at the naked women. Some of the nude guys on the beach confronted them, and told them, quote, “Get nude or get lost.” It didn’t go over well, and a fight broke out and the French riot police had to come break it up. Two of the guys in clothes were arrested, but so far no charges have been filed. (The Local)

Two Attractive Girls Instagram Their Cruise Around the World and Get Busted For Smuggling $23 Million of Cocaine

22-year-old Melina Roberge and 28-year-old Isabelle Lagace from Quebec, Canada have been on a cruise around the world since early July and they’ve been posting Instagram photos every step of the way. Apparently they were doing something else while taking all the pictures because when they docked in Sydney, Australia on the 51st day of their trip, they were busted for having a huge amount of Cocaine in their luggage.

Melina, Isabelle, and a 63-year-old guy from Quebec named Andre Tamine had 209 pounds of cocaine, which is worth about $23 million. There’s no word on where they picked it up along the way, but the ship did make stops in South American countries like Colombia and Peru. Apparently cocaine is extremely lucrative in Australia, so that’s probably where they planned to drop it off. A joint task force from Canada and the United States got info about the potential smuggling operation and tipped off the Australians. Melina, Isabelle, and Andre are all locked up in Australia and looking at maximum sentences of serviing live in prison.(AOL)
