Geese Activity Prompts Hazmat Response At Disneyland

Seventeen people had a crappy day at the Happiest Place on Earth. They enjoyed Disneyland just fine — it was getting hit with a massive load of geese poop while they were there that put a damper on their magical evening. Anaheim, California firefighters and police were called to the theme park on Friday night at about 9pm, after 17 people were hit with fecal matter, authorities said. Hazmat was also requested because initial reports indicated that someone had thrown human feces into the crowd gathered on Main Street. The Anaheim Police Department said in a tweet that 11 adults and six children had been hit by the falling feces, which was determined to have originated from a flock of geese that flew over them. The police said no crime had been committed and nobody was hurt or required transportation away from the park. Police later tweeted that all guests were healthy and happy after the incident. Disneyland officials said that the guests who had been literally crapped on were taken to a private restroom so they could get cleaned up. They were given clean clothing and released back into the park to enjoy the rest of the amusements. (CBS Los Angeles)

Teen mother ‘kills her two toddler daughters by leaving them in a hot car overnight while she hung out with her friends

A mother killed her two toddlers by intentionally leaving them in a hot car for more than 15 hours, police say. Amanda Hawkins, 19, from Kerr County, Texas, allegedly left her children Brynn Hawkins, one, and Addyson Overgard-Eddy, two, in the car overnight and ignored them even as they cried for hours. The girls were unconscious and in ‘grave condition’ by the time Hawkins sent them to the hospital – a day after they’d been left in the car. ‘This is by far the most horrific case of child endangerment that I have seen in the 37 years that I have been in law enforcement,” Kerr County Sheriff Hierholzer said in a statement. She left her two daughters in the car on Tuesday (6/6) at around 9pm while she hang out with a 16-year-old male friend and others inside a house nearby, according to a news release from the Kerr County Police Department. When little girls cried during the night, the mother ignored them even when her friends alerted her and the male friend slept for a while in the car during the night but did not take the children out, , the sheriff added. Her husband Isaac was apparently not present when she allegedly abandoned her kids. The young mom finally took her kids out of the car at noon on Wednesday – when the temperature in Texas was as high as 92 degrees -, and found them unconscious. Believing she would get into trouble, she decided not to report it, but after her male friend convinced her the children needed medical attention, she finally sent them to the Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrsville, on Thursday (6/8) when it was discovered their condition was so bad they had to be transferred to the University Hospital in San Antonio where they died at 5pm, mere hours after they had arrived in the hospital. Investigators say after she confessed to leaving her children in the hot car, they arrested her and charged with two counts of abandoning or endangering a child, although police say these charges may be upgraded since the children died.  She is being held on $70,000 bond. If she’s found guilty under the present charges, she could face up to two years in prison. (KSAT 12)

Family held prisoner by bobcat inside their house

Police in New Jersey say a mother locked herself and her two young children in their bathroom after a bobcat got into their house, prompting a police response. The Morris County family called police Wednesday evening to report that a bobcat had somehow gotten inside. Officers opened all of the doors and windows in the house to coax the bobcat into leaving. Washington Township police Sgt. Robert Oranchak says the bobcat left after about an hour. He says it didn’t appear to be sick or rabid. The animal did not make any contact with the family or the officers. (Yahoo)

Multi-millionaire farmer ‘killed by his own dog’ in tractor accident

A farmer was killed by his own dog after the animal activated a tractor and drove it over him, according to police in the United Kingdom. Investigators said that 70-year-old Derek Mead of Somerset, died as a result of a heart attack. Police have transferred the investigation to the Health and Safety Executive, after ruling out criminal activity. According to the police investigation, Mead owned a farm, where he bred pigs and sheep. The dog is thought to have entered the cab and accidentally started the vehicle, according to a source close to the farmer’s family. It is believed that the animal may have accidentally knocked the gear stick forwards. In a statement the Mead family, who have been farming in Somerset since the 1400s, described the death as a “terrible loss”. Police warn bald men after ritual attack

Bald men in Mozambique could be targets of ritual attacks, police have warned, after the recent killing of five men for their body parts. Two suspects have been arrested in the central district of Milange, where the killings occurred. “The belief is that the head of a bald man contains gold,” said Afonso Dias, a police commander in Mozambique’s central Zambezia province. Albino people have also been killed in the region for ritual purposes. A regional security spokesman, Miguel Caetano, told AFP that one of the victims had his head cut off and his organs removed. The organs were to be used in rituals to advance the wealth of clients in Tanzania and Malawi, Mr Caetano said, citing the suspects. There has been a spate of killings of people with albinism in East Africa in recent years, with their body parts used to make charms and potions by witchdoctors. (BBC)
